Anyone still on here? | Tue Jul 17, 2018 2:45 pm by The Colonel | Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone was still on here. I got an email that reminded me of this place and I somehow remembered my login info. Send me an email at dimitripheonixslovak@gmail.com if you just want to communicate. I lost contact with a lot of people on here, and I'm hoping to reconnect. If you're looking for another RP place, go to nationstates.net
I'll link my country here. [url=https://www.nationstates.net/nation=isaf-usea]…

New Races/Species | Thu Oct 03, 2013 3:36 pm by Flarezone | As you can see, the choices regarding species is currently very limited. I am currently working on 3-4 other species. However, if any member has an idea feel free to run it by me. These 1st few playable races are probably going to be the most commonly used so lets be original! If any guest has ideas, feel free to submit a thread to the QCIS board.

| Not quite the same, most smaller arms use gauss/railgun technology. I'll post a picture of one. | |

| What about ballistics? C'mon man, we are humanity, we have to have bullets somewhere if you think about it and we are surely far enough back to have them | |

| Gauss IS ballistics. It's just magnet-based ballistics and not gunpowder-based. It's a lot better for a space-faring civilization who will have depleted most of their coal supplies by now. | |

| Yes, the shotgun, sniper rifle and pretty much all other fully auto/smaller arms are ballistic.
The primary bullets are D-steel, or diamond steel. A synthetic material that combines the hardness of diamond with the flexibility of steel. Nothing other then D-Steel body armor can block it. With the addition of gauss/railgun tech, d-steel bullets can be fired at mach5 to mach10 speeds with little to no sound or backshock. | |

| The amount of suppression required for mach 5/10 to be almost silent could cut down on the power insanely, I'd think. | |

| It'd feel weird shooting something that didn't make a sound. | |

| Agreed, also shooting something with no kick. A major problem with giving soldiers laser tech: doesn't produced definitive enough results. It's slow. | |

| Alrighty, so I guess we can add sound to them. Regarding laser tech, for the Laser rifle all it would take is a few seconds to melt through a common steel door. The Shock Rifle fires highly electrified d-steel bullets which expel several thousand volts of electricity upon impact. Enough to knockout/kill any unarmored opponent. | |

| The Union has some epic quieting tech, but their guns also fire at SOL, so they need them. Badly. And as for laser not doing much, a concentrated beam of photons could conceivably be as strong as steel and as hot as the sun. | |

| Ya, but it has no kickback, no sound. No reaction to firing like a conventional or gauss weapon would. | |
